Our Ultra Fine Tylose (or CMC as it os often referred to as) is used to harden fondant to create gum paste or to set your figures and flowers!
It's ultra fine texture makes it perfect for creating your own edible glue. Dilute 1/4 teaspoon Tylose into 2 tablespoons of warm water, leave in the fridge overnight with a lid or until clear and diluted. Adjust as needed.
To harden fondant decorations, add approx 1 teaspoon of Tylose to every 250g of fondant and knead in well. You will instantly feel your fondant take on a firm texture. It will continue to harden with exposure to air.
The amount of CMC needed may vary slightly depending on weather conditions or colour of your fondant (high humidity or dark colours use more tylose).
